Hello there!
Welcome to the new folks who joined last month!
The new year has arrived, which means I’ll be turning 50 later this year. Although the logical portion of my brain has been aware for some time this was eventually going to happen, the emotional part of my brain is still making fart noises with my mouth and hates green vegetables. In other words, it’s kinda, sorta making me freak out a tiny bit.
I’ll keep that in check with my combination of staying creatively active and brain drugs.
Speaking of staying creatively active, 2023 was a different year for me creatively. I hit the wall writing-wise, only churning out a few thousand words, and my reading has dwindled significantly. This is neither alarming or new. I’ve had dry patches in the past, and then I’ll flip a switch and read two books a month.
I did find myself getting into Lego again and rekindling that interest via MOCs (My Own Creations). I averaged about one unique build a month, which I’ve tracked on my Flickr page. My most recent build is my John Wick scene, specifically taken from the second movie during the shopping montage when John Wick visits the tailor, sommelier, and historian. Here’s the scene:
I picked the interaction with the sommelier, as I love the back and forth with Peter Serafinowicz, and recreated the scenes.
