Hello there!
Welcome to the new folks who have joined in the past month!
Dang, September flew by fast. A bunch of small updates:
Our dog Honey is still being Honey. Still making small signs of progress overcoming her fear of people. In the mornings she happy to sneak up the beds and give a quick lick to our hands. I would not deny you a picture of Honey, so her she is with Dusty, touching butts on the orange chair. For the indoor plant enthusiasts - yes, that is a Monstera leaf pillow.
We’re a month away from NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month. If you’re a writer, or aspire to be one, this is a great way to track your progress and find a community for support. Last year I was able to get the first 17,000 words of Janet written in a month, and this year I’m shooting for the same.
Lastly, this is my Halloween build, a laboratory run by a mad professor building Halloween monster. There are a few things happening - the professor is working at his computer station, using various tanks and containers around the lab to extract the souls of monsters to power his creation. There is radioactive spider being studied, as well as a scary looking plant emerging from a pot. In the corner a few tendrils have broken out of a box that are being confronted by a pair of hazmat suit wearing workers holding saws to defend themselves. This was a fun build, already thinking about my Halloween build for next year! More pics at Flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAWzRd
RECENT DIG ME OUT
Here are the September episodes of Dig Me Out:

Flu Thirteen - RIYL At The Drive-in, Braid, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox
Tracy Bonham - RIYL Juliana Hatfield, Alanis Morissette, Liz Phair, Joan Osborne
RECENT TV/MOVIES
SPECTRAL (Netflix) - Very solid military sci-fi movie that avoid cliches and leans into the sci-fi.
TRANSPORTER 3 (Netflix) - Look, it’s not a good movie, but I watch Jason Statham movies like I eat Little Debbies - for the sugar high, not the drama.
ORIGINS OF HIP HOP, S.1 (Hulu) - Interesting series, some of the artists covered are well done and informative (Ice-T, Lil Jon, Grandmaster Flash, Busta Rhymes) and some were genuine head scratchers for their inclusion (Fat Joe, Eve, Ja Rule). I get they were successful, but Origins? What about Run D.M.C. or Public Enemy or Queen Latifa or Cypress Hill. If there is a season 2, hopefully they’ll get to some groups and not just solo artists.
RECENT MUSIC
Ash - Race The Night (2023)
Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes - Cosmic Funk (1974)
Candlebox - The Long Goodbye (2023)
Filter - The Algorithm (2023)

Seems to me you do a lot of creative work: novels, etc.
Anyway, I'm a music writer myself. Let's collaborate or subscribe to each other's newsletters.
